Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear in Musandam?
Light, breathable clothing is best. In towns, cover shoulders and knees. On boats and beaches, swimwear is fine. Bring at least one modest outfit for visiting villages or the souk.
Do I need hiking boots for Musandam?
Comfortable closed-toe shoes or trainers are sufficient for most activities. Hiking boots are recommended only if you plan serious trekking in Wadi Bih or Jebel Harim.
Can I use a drone in Musandam?
Drone regulations in Oman require prior permission. Photography near military installations and the Strait of Hormuz may be restricted. Check with local authorities before flying.
Is there mobile signal in Musandam?
Khasab town has good coverage (Omantel, Ooredoo). Signal becomes weak or non-existent in the fjords, mountains, and remote areas. Download offline maps and entertainment before leaving town.
