Difficulty Level: Moderate — suitable for reasonably fit adults. Total walking distance: 8–12 km. Elevation gain: 400–600m.
What to Bring: Comfortable hiking shoes (closed-toe), sun hat, sunglasses, sunscreen SPF50+, personal medications, camera, and a sense of adventure!

Meet at Khasab Port
Meet your guide at Khasab Port. Safety briefing, gear check, and introduction to the day's route.

Drive to Trailhead
Short drive through Khasab town to the mountain trailhead. Views of the fjords begin immediately.
08:00 AM
Trek Begins
Start ascending the ancient Bedouin trail. Your guide shares stories of the Shihuh mountain people who have walked these paths for centuries.
09:30 AM
Fossil Rock Stop
Rest at a remarkable fossil outcrop. See 250-million-year-old marine fossils — proof that these mountains were once an ocean floor.
11:00 AM
Summit Viewpoint
Reach the panoramic viewpoint overlooking Khor Sham and the surrounding fjords. Breathtaking photo opportunity. Light refreshments served.
12:30 PM
Descent & Village Visit
Descend via a different route through a remote mountain village. Meet local Shihuh residents and see traditional stone architecture.
02:00 PM
Wadi Rest Stop
Rest in a shaded wadi (dry riverbed). Dates, fruit, and water served. Your guide identifies local plants and wildlife.
03:30 PM
Return to Khasab Port
Complete the trek and return to Khasab Port. Certificate of completion presented to each trekker.

For guests traveling from UAE to Oman:
- • Oman visa fee: 50 AED payable at the border
- • UAE exit fee: 35 AED per person payable at the border
- • Passport & visa must be valid for more than 90 days
- • Everyone must carry original passport
- • Car must be under your name, or owner must be present
- • No car insurance? You can purchase at the border
- • Rental cars require NOC from the rental company
- • Dependent visa holders must be accompanied by sponsor
