Frequently Asked Questions

Is the dhow cruise safe for young children?
Very safe. Our dhows have railings, shaded areas, and we provide life jackets for all ages including infants. The fjord waters are extremely calm — like a lake. We've safely hosted families with babies as young as 6 months. Crew are trained in child safety.
What is the minimum age for the dhow cruise?
There is no minimum age. Babies and toddlers are welcome. However, very young children (under 2) won't get much from the experience. We recommend age 3+ for the most enjoyment. Under 4 years travel free.
Can my kids snorkel?
Yes! We recommend age 6+ for snorkeling. We provide child-sized masks and snorkels. The crew will help fit equipment and supervise in the water. Life jackets can be worn while snorkeling for extra safety.
What if my child gets seasick?
Motion sickness is rare because the fjord waters are very calm. If your child is prone to it, give them medication before boarding. Sitting on the upper deck in fresh air helps. Most of the cruise is in sheltered fjords with almost no movement.
Is there a toilet on the dhow?
Yes, all our dhows have a basic onboard toilet (marine head). It's simple but functional. For families with young children, we recommend bringing extra change of clothes just in case.
