The Best Sandy Beach in Khasab
While Musandam is famous for its dramatic rocky fjords, Bassa Beach provides a much-welcomed stretch of soft sand. Located just a short drive from Khasab Port and right next door to the Atana Musandam Resort, this public beach park is the recreational heart of the city.
Its relatively calm, shallow waters make it an excellent and safe swimming spot for families with children. During the week, the beach is incredibly peaceful. Come the weekend, however, Bassa Beach comes alive with local Omani families and tourists setting up BBQs, playing football, and enjoying the sea breeze.
Camping at Bassa Beach
Bassa Beach is one of the few designated areas near the city center where camping is freely permitted. Many adventurous travelers embarking on a road trip from Dubai or Abu Dhabi choose to pitch their tents here overnight. Waking up to the sound of the waves and a view of the dhows heading out of the harbor is an unforgettable experience.

If you are planning to Swim at Bassa Beach, please respect local cultural norms. While regular swimwear is acceptable on tourist boats, it is recommended to dress modestly (covering shoulders and knees) when out of the water on public beaches.
