The Ultimate Guide to Musandam Visas
Whether you are planning a weekend dhow cruise or a deep-sea fishing trip, understanding your Musandam visa requirements is the crucial first step. Because Khasab is an exclave of Oman separated by the UAE, the Khasab visa rules differ slightly depending on your residency.
Musandam Visa on Arrival
For many travelers, securing an Oman visa from UAE is incredibly straightforward. If you hold a UAE resident visa with an approved professional title (e.g., Engineer, Manager, Doctor), you are eligible for a Musandam visa on arrival at the Tibat border. The process usually takes just 15 minutes.
The Tibat Border Crossing
The main checkpoint for travelers driving from Dubai is the Al Dhara (Tibat) border. Here, you will first pay a UAE exit fee of 35 AED. Then, you will drive 100 meters to the Omani checkpoint to pay the 50 AED (5 OMR) entry fee. Note: You must have physical Emirates ID and original passports. Digital copies are strictly rejected.
