From Bahrain, fly to Dubai International Airport — approximately a 1-hour flight with Gulf Air, flydubai, and Emirates offering multiple daily services from Bahrain International Airport. At DXB, collect a pre-booked rental car and drive 2.5 hours north on the E11 through RAK to the Tibat border and then into Khasab. Total travel from Manama to Khasab is around 5.5–6.5 hours depending on airport efficiency.
أفضل وقت للمغادرة
Gulf Air's early morning Bahrain–Dubai flights depart around 7:00 AM and land by 9:30 AM UAE time. Factor in an hour for car collection, putting you on the E11 by 10:30 AM and in Khasab by 1:00 PM. For a less rushed start, fly over the evening before — Bahrain's short flight time makes an evening hop painless — and leave Dubai at first light.
التأشيرة والحدود
Bahraini passport holders enter the UAE and Oman visa-free — simply present your passport at both checkpoints. The only fee is the 35 AED UAE exit charge at Tibat. Non-Bahraini residents of Bahrain need to verify visa rules for both countries based on their passport nationality; the UAE and Oman have different eligible-nationality lists, so check both.

- Forgetting to convert Bahraini dinars to AED before arriving at the border — the Tibat crossing accepts only AED or OMR cash.
- Booking a rental car online without confirming Oman permission and discovering the restriction only at the counter.
- Scheduling a morning return flight from Dubai after a Khasab trip, leaving almost no margin for border delays.
- Not packing warm layers for the mountain safari — Musandam peaks can be surprisingly cool compared to Bahrain's humidity.
